NAME: Mike Whittaker

What got you into barefooting? I saw a friend doing it and wanted to try.

How did you lean to barefoot? Sitting on a knee board on the boom.

Who was your first barefoot instructor? Randy Daniels

Tell us about your first tournament.  Crash and Burn!

How did you feel the first time you barefooted? Like I wanted to try it again

Why do you continue to barefoot? I’m at the top of my game at 45 yrs. old

Who has inspired you in this sport? Banana George Blair

What are your barefooting goals? I would like to be Open tricks and slalom

Have you held any records? First one.

Have you won any tournaments? Yes

What skiers have you enjoyed watching and why? Keith St. Onge. I watched Keith progress since he was 14 yrs. old

How often do you train/ski? During season about 3 times a week.

Do you have a nickname and how did you get it? “Crittaker” because I’m so critical!

Tell us about your family. Mom, Dad and 2 brothers all live in CT and none of them do any kind of water sports

What other activities do you participate in? “Life”

What do you do for a living? Computer Graphics

How did the 2006 barefoot season go for you? Ups and downs

What can we expect from you in 2007. Trick over 3000 and break mens 4 trick record.
